ROMULUS,
MI (June 28, 2013) – APS (Alliance Polymers and Services,
LLC), in its quest to become North America’s complete TPE
compounder/distributor/technical support firm (TPEs, TPVs, TPRs, TPOs, TPUs and
alloys), has purchased their first injection molding machine to complement the
firm’s growing compounding and R & D facilities. The unit is a 100 ton machine made by Arburg.
The IM machine acquisition will enable
APS to test and run formulations ordered by customers to ensure the ability of
the TPE to process easily and if the formulations require additives or fillers
from the firm’s compounding department.
This press will also be used to assist designers to fine tune small
parts and enable customers to prototype other resins and compounds. It will also give APS the ability to test
mold and assure customers that they will have the ability to put out quality
parts.
According to Stephane Morin, Principal
of APS, “Our initial goal, when we opened our doors four years ago, was to
become a total thermoplastic elastomer resource, offering our own formulations
of all types of TPEs as well as those we source from manufacturers
worldwide. With our recent introduction
of our very own line of TPVs and TPUs (specifically Viprene™ thermoplastic
vulcanizates and Zythane™ thermoplastic polyurethanes), we knew we had to
bolster the size and scope of both our compounding and R & D
facilities. That led to our recent
purchase of the Arburg unit.”
APS (Alliance Polymers and Services
LLC) is an established TPE technology resource offering service, technical
support and TPE materials for consumer and industrial applications. Company offerings include Maxelast® TPEs,
Viprene™ TPVs, Zythane™ TPUs, TPE alloys, compounding services and custom and
standard soft elastomer formulations.
