Romulus, MI (April 14,
2014) APS Elastomers’ high performance Viprene® TPV (thermoplastic
vulcanizates) are stable and can be processed in a wide temperature range
without showing signs of degradation. “Our Viprene® TPV is formulated to
reduce processing cost by obtaining lower viscosity; allowing shorter fill
time, longer flow paths, and lower injection pressure, “ says Stephane Morin,
owner of APS Elastomers.
Available in Shore Hardness of 35A to 50D, Viprene® TPVs are compounded with a polyolefin phase and a cross-linked EPDMK phase which gives products rubber-like performance. They can be optimized with specific softness needed in a variety of parts. Processing at recommended temperatures accelerates and improves bonding to certain thermoplastics and other TPVs in applications such as gaskets, seals, electrical insulation, tool grips, construction and industrial parts.
